Our beginning

My Story

I moved to Chumphon because it offered the kind of life I was looking for: close to the ocean, friendly and relaxed, but still large enough to have shops, restaurants, hospitals, and other city conveniences.

My Thai wife and I started SpeakFree Language Center together. In the beginning, we had only a handful of students. As we worked with them, we quickly noticed that many needed more support with phonics and reading comprehension.

We didn’t want to offer lessons that simply kept students busy. We wanted to understand where they were struggling and give them a clear path forward. That led us to develop our own structured phonics and reading courses.

Over time, we watched students become stronger readers and more confident English speakers. Even better, many developed a genuine love of English.

Some of the most rewarding moments happen when parents tell us how much their children have improved—not only in English, but also in confidence. I’m also proud that I have been able to teach some students from a young age and watch them grow into young adults.

Today, SpeakFree continues to grow because parents keep asking us for more classes. We are now looking for another teacher who wants to grow with us and help students make meaningful progress.

What Your Week Looks Like

Imagine waking up without rushing to school early in the morning.

Your weekdays are free during the day. You might head to the beach for a swim, exercise, explore Chumphon, study Thai, work on a personal project, or simply enjoy a slow morning.

Our school is only about 5 km from the nearest beach, so the ocean can become part of your everyday life—not somewhere you only visit on holiday.

Classes are mainly held from approximately 4:00–8:00 p.m. on weekdays. You arrive prepared and refreshed, teach a focused evening schedule, and then head home.

This position is a good fit for someone who values meaningful work but also wants time to enjoy life in Thailand.

Our Phonics Program

Help younger learners connect letters and sounds, blend words, improve pronunciation, and become independent readers—from early sound recognition to stronger reading ability.

02 • UNDERSTANDING

Reading Comprehension

Help students understand what they read, build vocabulary, find important details, and discuss ideas through courses developed around the real difficulties we saw.

03 • CONFIDENCE

Conversation Classes

Lead lively classes where high-school students think, respond, express their ideas, improve fluency, and become more comfortable speaking English.
